For remote system management and diagnostics, software upgrades, and presentations via the intranet or Internet, ViewStation is the only videoconferencing system to include an embedded web server. Using the embedded web server and integrated 2 port 10Mbps Ethernet hub, system managers can remotely perform diagnostic testing, software upgrades, setup, dialing, and configuration tasks using any browser, anywhere, anytime. The ViewStation also integrates with existing SNMP based network management systems.

Easy to Use, Automatic Videoconferencing tasks

ViewStation employs a unique system design which makes common videoconferencing tasks automatic, allowing users to focus on their meeting, not the technology. Standard features include an easy-to-navigate user interface and a voice-tracking camera. The voice-tracking camera automatically tracks the camera to the person speaking, and will not respond to noise only, such as rustling papers.

ViewStation is also the first videoconferencing system to include a web-based integrated presentation system, which allows users a convenient and reliable way to display presentation slides created with Microsoft PowerPoint™ during a videoconference. Using a local or remote connection, users simply point their browser at ViewStation’s embedded Web server and then use the system’s remote control to automatically send and present their slides to the remote site, requiring no additional cables or connections. ViewStation works seamlessly with the new Polycom ShowStation IP for projected XGA resolution presentations. ViewStation also supports T.120 through the Polycom ShowStation IP or a Microsoft NetMeeting enabled PC.

For systems administrators, ViewStation supports auto-ISDN setup, allowing the ISDN cable to be connected to the ISDN wall jack, and the SPIDs (Service Provider Identification Numbers) and switch type are automatically detected. ViewStation’s "instant-on" technology allows for a power-up-to-ready cycle in less than 10 seconds.
