We often get calls from people who want to understand how to dictate hands free.

The Digital Dictation Machine that solves this issue is the Olympus DS5000. To accomplish this task we need four parts.

• The Olympus DS5000 Kit

• RS-27 Foot Pedal

• Extra CR-10 Cradle

• Goose Neck Microphone

For the hands free dictation station we place the DS5000 into the CR10 Cradle.  Then we plug the RS-27 Foot Pedal into the CR10 Cradle. Finally, we plug a Goose Neck Microphone into the top of the DS5000.  Then by utilizing the foot pedal you can record, rewind play back and create a new files with the DS5000.  All of this done totally hands free.

When you are done recording, we remove the DS5000 from the recording cradle and plug it in the download cradle and the files are downloaded and moved to your secretary utilizing DSS Player Pro Dictation Module.

A few notes about this configuration.  You should use  two cradles because a cradle plugged into the USB port of a PC will not allow the foot pedal to operate the recorder.  The gooseneck microphone can be replaced by another type of microphone or can be eliminated from the configuration depending on need.
